ABOUT ABOUT

NUTCRACKER
Choreographed by Phyllis Papa, The Nutcracker is an annual event that has been part of the ACB repertoire since 1982. It is performed locally as part of the Stockton State College’s regular season. In addition, the production travels to theatres, colleges and casinos. The costumes and scenery are magnificent. It is a spectacular ballet worth seeing. Nutcracker is a family tradition that embodies the holiday spirit. It has been enjoyed by young and old, and remains the most well attended ballet in history. Many patrons make it an annual event to kick off the holiday season. It is based on the story of Hoffman to the music of Tchaikovsky. Interesting fact: George Balanchine was the first to bring this ballet to the United States from Russia where it was initially
unsuccessful. Nutcracker is now the most famous of all ballets.
